Description:  The 7o2 switches a few carloads of brick from Columbus Brick, one the C&G's 2 remaining carriers in its name sake city. C&G in Columbus now is little more than a bridge line between carriers in the area, a shadow of its former self. The sign here just adds insult to injury. Other class 1's gobble of the other shippers in the area.

Description:  I almost got to go for a swim taking this picture. There was a steady light rain and mist while I was taking pics of this trestle and this side of the bank is on a steep hill side that was full of wet leaves. I don't think the Tombigbee River below would have been at a comfortable temp to go take a dip in in December.

Unfortunately almost 4 1/2 years after this picture was taken, it and the unit behind it were scrapped in April 2009. Luckily though the scrapper allowed me to get the number boards so I have that if nothing else.
