Pure Conrail GP40-2 |
Description: |
CSX 4400 still looks good in her old CQ paint. When you think the newest this paint job could have been was 1999, the 6 years had been relatively kind to her. Compare how the CR blue holds up to time and wear with the way the current YN3 scheme holds up. |

CSX Rail Welder |
Description: |
As I was going home from work, the Belcher Rd. crossing kept activating. I thought something was shorting them out, and then this rail-bonder rolled slowly across, and then back again. It did that several times before finally continuing east. Not the best picture, but not bad considering I took it with my cell phone! |

Yeoman Yard |
Description: |
A 3-hour trip to the ex-SAL yards in Tampa proved uneventful, but at least one train was waiting to leave when I arrived. |

78th Street "Tower" |
Description: |
This may give you an idea of how long it's been since I was at 78th street, but the old electrical house has been painted for 78th street finally. It's original post on Busch Blvd. still shows through however. |

Re-crewed, is ready to leave the yard. Afternoons are crap at 78th street for shooting departing trains. |

The two SD70MACs |
Description: |
from different eras ease gently on the empty hoppers. It almost seemed as though the cars were loaded as slowly as they left the yard. |

Leaving town |
Description: |
The last of the coal cars snakes their way out of the old SAL yard. This is really quite an unusual track arrangement leaving Yeoman. The overpass in the background is I-75. |

Waitin' on go |
Description: |
The conductor releases the hand brakes on the 4800 as the dispatcher gives the all clear. Seconds before the train began to move, an impatient fisherman decided it was better to climb the ladder on the third car, walk across, and climb down the other side to try the fishing on this side. I was amazed nobody got after him given CSX's current attitude. Either way it was a stupid thing to do, and he was lucky to get off before the train moved. |
