Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1944, this loco and its sisters received all the benefits of research and testing making them highly evolved and efficient locomotives. The engine was colorfully trimmed and graceful in appearance, with a blunted cap covering the smokebox door. This feature inspired the nickname "Bullet-Nosed Betty".
