Description:  The lead car in this four car string was built by Pullman-Standard in 1926 (serial #4936). Originally it was a 64-68 seat coach-baggage but rebuilt and lengthened in 1944. Air conditioning and picture windows came in 1950. No photographer or exact date was listed for this original bw negative and the date is approximate.

Title:  CSS 32 - Chicago, South Shore & South Bend
Description:  CSS #32 was built by Standard Steel Car Company in 1929 as a 48 seat smoker. It was air-conditioned later and sold to National Park Service in 1983. Then it was leased to Seashore Trolley Museum in 1989. No photographer was listed for this color slide. CSS #2 sitting to the left in the background was built by Pullman-Standard in 1926 as a 56 seat smoker. It was lengthened in 1945-47. A small piece of CSS SW1 #601 can be seen to the far right of #32. No photographer was listed for this color slide.

Description:  Amid the "nest' of CSS interurban cars is CSS #21 in the foreground. The car was built by Pullman in 1927 as an 80 seat interurban coach car. It was lengthened and air conditioned and received picture windows in 1947. Note the two former NYC electric locos in the rear right side. No photographer was listed

Title:  NICD #111 - Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District
Description:  This is a rebuilt interurban car done by Pullman-Standard in 1951 from CSSSB coach #29 (originally a 64 seat coach-baggage car). It went to Fox River Trolley Museum in 1988 and sadly, it was later scrapped. Technicatlly this is a Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District car, not the CSSSB since it's after the 1977 re-organization. NICD 21 - Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District
Title:  NICD 21 - Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District
Description:  Built by Pullman in 1927 as an 80 seat coash interurban car CSS #21, it was lengthened in 1946. In 1977, it was transferred to the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District as NICD #21. Luckily it is now preserved at the trolley museum in East Troy, WI.
