Album Info:I ended up randomly getting the day off work today, so I decided to head up to the Chicago Line to spend my free time. While it was pretty slow compared to most full days I have spent up there, I did nab some pretty nice trains. Enjoy!

Description:  I ended up getting the day off of work randomly this morning, so I decided to spend my day up on the NS Chicago Line between Waterloo, IN and Edgerton, IN. I went up as soon as I knew I had the day off, and I didnt have to wait long at my first stop in Waterloo before AMTK 49 rolled in for its station stop in town.

Description:  I decided I wanted a shot of a train passing the grain elevator in Edgerton so I moved further east into Ohio where I grabbed NS 21G rolling west through town. NS 21G most days was an evening train, but I believe it has a new call time out of Toledo as it has been running in the mornings for quite some time now.

Description:  Back in Butler, I got another "usually evening" move in NS 25N, which featured a solo BNSF GE on the front. After the full introduction of PSR, NS flopped some of the intermodal traffic symbols to different terminals. NS 25/26N come from the UP now whereas NS 22/23K come from BNSF. Despite it being a train bound for UP tracks, a BNSF unit found its way on the front.

Description:  After NS 26E cleared CP 359, NS 181 got the light to come down on the Huntington District. I successfully grabbed the train passing the trilights that guard the south side of the diamond. This is the first time Ive been brave enough to shoot a train coming by these signals as the guy who lives across the tracks from where this was taken is not very fond of railfans and will run them off. I timed my moves just right and got what I was looking for.

Description:  After NS 15N went by things got pretty quiet, but finally a crack on the scanner told me that NS B43 was returning heading back to Bryan. It was a pretty short day for the local, but at least it meant it wouldnt be coming back completely backlit like it usually does. I decided since it was a nose forward GP60 I was going to walk down to the trilights to get a better shot than I would from the side like I did with NS 206 in the morning. If I wouldve known it had no cars with it I wouldnt have tried something that daring or special, but Im happy with it anyway!

Description:  Reports were coming out of Elkhart that NS 1069 was leading NS 143 south. I was a bit skeptical of that because I saw no trains take the connection at CP 412 on ATCS, but there were plenty of eastbounds, so I decided to roll back into Waterloo and wait. Sure enough, my suspicions were right and NS 1069 came rocketing by on eastbound NS 310.

Description:  My first CP train of the day also had a BNSF SD70ACe leader. I prefer CP leaders on CP trains but Ill definitely take two BNSF ACe leaders back to back! Windsor Ontario bound autoracks symboled as CP 234 race east through Waterloo. CP 234 is the old CP 244. CP recently underwent a completely systemwide train symbol change. Why you ask? I wish I knew myself.

Title:  CP 8136
Description:  CP 130 (the old CP 140) closes out my day with a pair of CP GEs up front. A total of 28 trains passed the camera today. While it wasnt the busiest Ive ever seen the Chicago Line, the number of BNSF leaders and trailers was mind boggling; a total of 7 had BNSFs leading and 5 more had BNSFs trailing which brought up a total of 12 trains with at least 1 BNSF unit in the consist. Just under half! Orange is my favorite color so I have no complaints! A fun day on the busy mainline!
