Album Info:I recently visited the WW&F and had a great time! A dedicated group of narrow gage enthusiasts are re-building a section of the old WW&F (abandoned and pulled up in the 1930's) on it's former roadbed. There's over two miles of track in place, with plans to expand the yard area and to push the mainline farther to the north. A must-see for narrow gage steam enthusiasts.

WWF 10 running light as it enters yard limits
Title:  WWF 10 running light as it enters yard limits
Description:  Track structure enthusiasts: note how the joints on 2-foot gage track are not staggered; they're adjacent to each other, and on top of a crosstie. Normal practice in larger gages is to stagger the joints so as to reduce pounding to one side only at at time. It was found in 2-foot gage that staggering the joints tended to set up a rocking motion that could harmonically amplify, so the side-by-side joints seen just forward of the engine's pilot are correct to 2-foot gage prototype.
