PRR 2516, GF-25, 1965 |
Description: |
Brickyard. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at the Brickyard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2516, #2329, and #2370. #2516 is a GF-25 built by GE in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2329 and #2370 are EF-22's built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,200 horsepower each. They are pulling a 68-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477863. There are also two pushers on the end: PRR engines #6302 and #6307. |

PRR E&M Yard, #1 of 3, 1966 |
Description: |
E&M. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Juniata E&M Shop Yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during April of 1966. Shown here is the trusty turntable on the left. Beyond it are dozens of locomotives in various states of repair: from work almost finished to being cannibalized. Many makes and models are represented. Visible in the foreground is PRR engine #2329, an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. Further back is PRR engine #7259, an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. |
