Description:
Here is one of the later J-1 class locomotives built by Alco-Schenectadyin November of 1929 (serial #68156). Note the longer tender than previous J-1 subclasses had. This held 14,000 gallons of water and 28 tons of coal. Additional Specs - J-1d class, 79" drivers, 25x28" cylinders, engine weight of 362,500 lb. No photographer or locatio was listed for the photo.
