Built by ALCo-Brooks in December of 1912 as CMStP #7223, this loco served for nearly 42 years. In 1927, it was renumbered CMStP&P #7223 and again in 1938 to MILW 1223. The loco met the scrapper's torch after retirement in June of 1954. Specs - 63" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 24x30" cylinders, engine wt of 224,000lb, tractive effort of 43,130 lb. Unfortunately, no date, location or photograher was listed for the photo so approximate location and date were used. |
