METX 115
Very similar to Toronto's GO Transit transition from the EMD F59PH to the streamlined MPI MP40PH-3C, Chicago's Metra is moving to the MPI MP36PH-3S from the familiar EMD F40PH. On the tracks above this F40PH run other Metra commuters, as well as Union Pacific trains.

Unknown Contributor General Metra is actually only has 27 MP36's, which are 5 years old now. Metra is currently in the process of rebuilding some F40's, so they will not be leaving Chicago anytime soon. 9/29/2008 12:14:07 AM
Neil Barratt General Thanks Kyle. GO Transit in Toronto has only recently added the MP40s, but apparently have plans to phase out the FP59s. 9/29/2008 7:28:02 AM
