A BNSF stack train heads up the hill while a manifest train heads down (upper left hand corner). What I find interesting about this shot is that nothing came by on all four tracks for over an hour, so I decided to climb a small hill that I have not been on top of before to see what I could see. As I was part way up the hill, the Westbound train approached, then as I was hiking though the brush (there are no trails here) I heard the rumbling of the Eastbounder on the other side of the rise and sprinted the rest of the way up the hill. So this, and the crappy images of the Westbound taken into the sun are all I have to show for my impatience. I did however score some nice shots of a computer keyboard and some 12 gauge shotgun shells that I found on top of the hill. Taken near M.P. 57.2 on BNSFs Cajon Subdivision in the Cajon Pass, San Bernardino County California. |
