PRR 4173, D-16B, c. 1916         
Classics. Here is a photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4173, a D-16B (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops as number "645" during February of 1901, renumbered "4173" in October of 1913, rebuilt as a D-16SB in February of 1917, and retired in October of 1929 after 28 years of service. Note the Hostler on the tender's deck, refilling the reservoir. "Fill 'er up, Mack!" The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.)
