RIO GRANDE SD40T-2 NO.5350. (PAINTED INTO SOUTHERN PACIFIC COLORS).  Contributor's Pick!
Rio Grande Tunnel Motor No.5350 shoves Southern Pacific's SVLHC (Savage Mine-Los Angeles Harbor Coal),Into the Union Pacific Yard at Provo. After switching power and crews,This train will soon be on it's way to Lynndyl and the connection with the former LA&SL Mainline to an awaiting ship for export to the Orient. Can't help but notice the date on the cowcatcher,I had a camera that dated the picture it was taken,Oh well it's still Rio Grande even if painted in Southern Pacific Colors. SP was too cheap to renumber the locomotive.
