This 1912 Alco built Mikado is working a freight haul. Built as an N-1 class loco, it had 63" drivers, generated 175 psi, and developed 55,533 lb tractive effort. Later, the loco was rebuilt to the N-4 class. After nearly 38 years of service, it was sold for scrap in March of 1950 to Briggs & Turivas. Warren W. McCleary, Jr photo. Date is approximate. |
