BN Caboose 11660         
Burlington Northern Railroad Caboose 11660 at Hardy, Arkansas on May 19, 1988, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Spray painted on the side is: RCR FX 1-83, possibly the retirement date. According to the book, Burlington Northern Cabooses 1970-1995, this caboose was rebuilt from a box car in December 1975 and assigned SLSF number 1430. The conversion cost was between $15,500 and $19,900.

J Ross Jones General SLSF 1430 sustained flood damage and was sold by the city of Hardy in about 1998. She was moved to Jonesboro Arkansas where she spent nearly 20 years in a back yard off of Fox Trace road. Then moved to Main Street Batesville Arkansas in 2022. SLSF got a compleate overhaul and is now available on AirBnb as a short term rental. J. Ross & Lua Jones current owner. 8/17/2023 12:47:23 PM
