| The CN replaced the CNW swing bridge during 2012 and 2013 with this bascule style bridge. The old bridge was much more picturesque but this new one opens and closes much quicker, allowing for more efficient flow of marine and rail traffic. It is still amazing to see that some boaters still become very annoyed at having to halt their pleasure trips up and down the river between Lake Winnebago and Lake Buttes des Morts for a few minutes as the trains go through. The view is of the east side of the bridge, looking up the Fox River. |
