| Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Prominent here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6307 and #6300. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They're pushing a westbound ore train past the Altoona Passenger Station, partially visible at the far right. Meanwhile, the eastbound coal train pulled by engine #9530 is still stopped at the far left. (#22 of 44) |
