Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2291, one whose number is not visible, #2410, and another whose number is not visible. #2291 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2410 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound autorack train. Note the American Motors products, all nice and shiny! |
