Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #6303, one unit whose number is not visible, and #6308. #6303 and #6308 are both AF-27's built by ALCO in 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They are pushing a westbound TrucTrain, whose caboose is N-8 #478155. Note the PRR logo on the highway trailer in the foreground. |
