Joseph Yarbrough General This is one of my favorite early Amtrak images on RRPictureArchives.Net. This photo was taken when Amtrak passenger trains actually looked like passenger trains of a bygone era. I've always thought that the 'Panama Limited' name was much more exotic and romantic than the 'City of New Orleans' name. Trains such as these are sights from days to never be repeated again. 10/30/2008 9:00:38 AM
Barb Carwithen General I rode that train in '74 from Chicago to New Orleans on the way home to the Panama Canal Zone. We caught the SS Cristobal in NO for Cristobal, CZ. Thanks for a great memory!!! 7/11/2011 1:22:40 PM
