PRR 4935, GG-1, 1;65
WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here is PRR engine #4937, a GG-1 built in Juniata during March of 1943. It is pulling a northbound passenger train into the Wilmington Station on its way to Philadelphia and points North. This locomotive is preOently on exhibit at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, Pennsylvania.

Tom Beckett General Nice shot of a famous engine when it was just another unit in the fleet. This G went to Amtrak in 1971, and was repainted in the Brunswick Green with gold pinstripes in 1977, finishing out its career in 1981. It's now in the RR Museum of Pennsylvania. 11/3/2016 3:52:25 AM
