12th Street. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during January of 1966. Shown here is an Enola-bound mixed-cargo freight train parked under the 12th Street Bridge. Its crew is waiting for permission to proceed after coming down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve. Also visible are an EMD engine switching cars, the 7th Street Bridge, as well as portions of Altoona and Brush Mountain in the distance. |
