SPM. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near South Amboy, New Jersey. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1453, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1917 and retired in September of 1956 after 39 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling a seven-car passenger train on the New York & Long Branch line. "Faster than a speeding bullet!" The photographer's name and the date are not recorded. |
