Here is page 57 of the April 1946 issue of "Trains" magazine. Noteable on the left is a half-page article by Mr. Joe Fox entitled "Gauge . . . and Guess." The final paragraph reads: "It is a curious thing to reflect upon the possibility that our modern railroads thunder over rails whose gauge was decided by a craftsman over two-thousand years ago who perhaps worked out the best axle width for animal power." |
