After the discontinuance of the Southern Railway’s PELICAN in 1968, the railroad's locomotives were seldom seen at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal during daylight; but E8A 6908, along with the 2925, was photographed there during a brief strike in 1971, laying over for the SOUTHERN CRESCENT. The next year, all of the railroad’s E8 units would receive a green and imitation aluminum paint scheme. |
