Here is a photo from an article entitled "TrucTrain In Two-Way Movement Of Aluminum." It was was published originally in the October 1956 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 7. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Shipment leaves Jeffersonville same day. Next morning, it is part of big building." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9304, an FS-20 switcher built by Fairbanks-Morse in February of 1949, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in November of 1965 after just 16 years of revenue service. It's coupled with an unidentified F-39C flatcar which was built in Altoona's 12th Street Car Shops. |
