A Southern Railway SCHOOL KIDS’ SPECIAL was leaving New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal behind FP7's 6141 and 6133. The railroad occasionally ran these trains to introduce students – and frequently their parents and teachers – to train travel and railroading. Passengers got on and off all along the way, and the riders returned to their point of origin on buses. Half of the cars on the 10-car train – the first two and the last three – had been built for the Central of Georgia. |
