Newark. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken near Newark, New Jersey, on 25 October 1952. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4913, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during January of 1942, rated at 4,620 horsepower, served into the Amtrak era as number "913," and presently on display at the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It's pulling one of the PRR's "Congressionals" past Waverly Yard. ("Stoneborobranch"; #4 of 11) |
