MDiv. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Summerdale, Pennsylvania, on 10 March 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6793, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during April of 1930 and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. In this context, it's about to enter the Enola Yards with a mixed-cargo freight train. The names of the railfans at the left are not recorded. ("Stoneborobranch"; #37 of 56) |
