Lorenz. Here is a photo via Bob Lorenz that was taken at the Passenger Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5797, an EP-22 built by GM-EMD in June of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. For some reason, it seems to be coupled with at least two electrified passenger cars. Note the large blocks of ice at the far left of the photo; they'll soon provide the "air conditioning" for some contemporary passenger cars. (Gift from Brad Mann.) |
