| Also at the Gopher State Railroad Museum is this old Alco, to which I've arbitrarily assigned a reporting mark of FTCX for Foster-Wheeler Twin Cities; FW is the reporting mark for the Fillmore & Western movie railroad in southern California. This locomotive was originally Boston & Maine 1174, an S3 built in 1950, later rebuilt to B&M S4m 1274 after a fire, and last worked for Foster-Wheeler switching coal hoppers in and out of the U of M heating plant in Minneapolis. |
