Here is a photo by Mr. A.F. Sozio. It's on page six of a six-page camera study entitled "Pennsy Photo Section" that was published originally in the August 2001 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 41. Partial Caption: "Portia Mitaritono, an employee at PRR's Sunnyside Coach Yard in Long Island City, N.Y., cleans the running gear of a GG-1 electric locomotive in 1943." Partially visible in the background is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4863, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata in January of 1938 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. |
