| NJT 4609, the Ride With Pride Locomotive is on train 7220 at Linden, NJ 3/5/2023. An interesting note: A very large "billboard" on the side of the 4609 shows that funding for the wrap was made by Hackensack Meridian. One would wonder why NJT chose the 4609 since it could never get to Hackensack under its own power since the Pascack line is not electrified. An ambulance or MICU owned by Hackensack Meridian passed by and the lettering on it stated that it was operating out of Riverview Hospital in Red Bank and they also have Oceanview University Medical Center in Brick. Thats why they chose the 4609 and why its been pretty much confined to the North Jersey Coast line. (I take offense as I am North Jersey born and bred. Born in what was then Hackensack Hospital. It did not become Hackensack UniversityMedical Center until much later. ) The NJCL is SOUTH of the Driscoll Bridge putting it in SOUTH Jersey. |
