| The beautiful Art Deco styling by Raymond Loewy allows the GG1's to hold a special place in railroading history as one of the sleekest stylings ever created, at least IMHO! Even more impressive was its speed - often reaching sustained speeds of 100 mph, something that was lost after these beautiful machines were retired.
