ITC Freight motoer #73 - Illinois Terminal RR
Illinois Terminal Railroad steeplecab #73 was an electric freight locomotive built in-house by the Illinois Traction System (ITS), which became the Illinois Terminal Railroad (ITC). The ITC built six Class B locomotives from earlier locomotive, of which #73 was one from ITC #1583. The locomotive was used for freight service on the Illinois Terminal's network in central and southern Illinois. The network included routes between cities like Danville, Peoria, and St. Louis. The ITC ended all interurban electric passenger service in 1956 - presumedly #73 was scrapped at that time. No photographer was listed for the photo.
