Here is the first of three successive photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on 18 September 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #460, an E-6S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata during August of 1914 and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. This is the "Lindbergh Special" locomotive. In this context, it's been readied to pull a railfan excursion train. Raymond C. Laws Collection. |
