UPY 3007 SD40N was delivered to Union Pacific as UP 3232 SD40-2 and UPY 3008 S3-2B to Chicago & North Western as CNW 4657 SD38-2. Both are now assigned to Union Pacific's Davidson Yard for hump and yard duties. Note the fuel tank differences between the SD40N and S3-2B. |

Description: |
UPY 3007 SD40N is working with a slug in its intended role at Davidson Yard. Electro Motive built this diesel as UP 3565 SD40-2 in March 1979 then was renumbered UP 3232 on July 1, 2013 but kept this number just over seven months until emerging as UP 1952 SD40N on February 11, 2014. Sixteen months after rebuilding this diesel was give remote control gear, a slug, and again renumbered becoming UPY 3007 and is paired with UPY 3008 S3-2B for yard duties. |
