They are passing under four-track Signal Bridge #2418 on their way to East Altoona so as to make another helper or pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. |

Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-June of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #6000 and another unit whose number was not recorded. #6000 is an EF-25A built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. After passing under four-track Signal Bridge #2397, they are returning to East Altoona for another helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. |

Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6000, #6007, and #6509. All were built during 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #6000 and #6007 are EF-25A's built by GM-EMD, whereas #6509 is a GF-25A built by General Electric. In this context, they're rounding the Curve on their way back down to East Altoona for yet another helper or pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. |
