| Detween Shushan and Greenwhich Jct. the Batten Kill crosses the Batten Kill numerous times, but there is little way to access it, except by foot. This is the only crossing in that stretch, and when the road crosses the Batten Kill, it does so on a covered bridge, which could be used to frame the train, but I didn't want to chance a ear coming right when the train did. The rusty old sign on the left tells the flanger or spreader operator that there is a crossing coming up and to lift anythintg that is below rail level. |
