LSMS 4-4-0 #195, "P.P. Wright" - Lake Shore & Michigan Southern |
| Description: |
The actual build date for this loco is March of 1886 but the RRPA data base won't accept this date. This is an older (reprint?) builder's photo of Lake Shore & Michigan Southern 4-4-0 #195. Long before joining the ALCo group, Schenectady Locomotive Works built this 4-4-0 American type steam locomotive in March of 1886 as Lake Shore & Michigan Southern #195 with a title of "P.P. Wright" (serial #2068). This is the builder's photo of the loco taken at the Schenectady plant. The loco was absorbed into the parent NYC roster as NYC Lines #4105 in 1905 (class C-52). Then in June of 1907, it was rebuilt. In June of 1915 it was renumbered NYC Lines 4175. Finally in April of 1918, it was retired and scrapped. Rebuilt specs - 69" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 18x24" cylinders, modest engine wt of 94,000 lb and modest tractive force of 15,1000 lb. |
