Description:  Built by the Grand Trunk Rwy shops in 1903 as #61 and later renumbered to GTR 1651, it was absorbed into the Canadian National Rwy and renumbered first in 1923 as CNR 7125 and then again in 1952 as CN 7220. Description:  Standing near the Toronto Union Station is CN 4-8-2 #6031 with its interesting scoop smoke deflector on the top of the stack. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in October of 1925 (serial #1764, class U-1-b), this loco served for nearly 34 years before being retired and scrapped. Interesting that this is one of the last built but one of the earliest to be scrapped. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 354,300 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb.

Description:  Unusual looking crossover between a coach car, doodlebug, and bus spotted here in an open area in the Toronto yard. The original photo is attributed to Colin Menzies III collection as well as having been in the Pacific Western Rwy collection (operated by Union Lumber Co). Other than it being an oil-electric powered unit, not much background information could be found on this item. Thanks to Raymond Kennedy (see comment below) for providing new info - Built 11/1923 #15816, by National Steel Car Company. It was powered by a Sterling 6 cyclinder gass engine, contained 32 seats and was 54 feet long. Eventually scrapped in May of 1941.
