| Alco-Brooks built this 2-8-0 Consolidation in April of 1903 originally as Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific #1635 (serial #28054, class 55A/C-39). In 1926, it was rebuilt as a switcher and renumbered CRIP 435. The loco was retired and scrapped in September of 1940. Rebuilt specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cyinders, engine wt of 206,000 lb and tractive force of 39,181 lb. The photo was taken by rail fan Frank M. Naven and is now in my collection. |
