PRR 7093, EFS-17M, 1965 |
| Description: |
17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7093 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7093 was built in November of 1956. They've just come down the eastern slope of the Allegheny Mountains with a mixed-cargo freight train, and are now passing ALTO Tower on their way through Altoona non-stop to Enola. The signal bridge in the right distance is just short of SLOPE Tower and the 24th Street Bridge. |
