Title:  PRR 5418, K-4S, c. 1938
Description:  Contax. Here is an original 35mm B&W photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1938. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5418, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in February of 1956. It's about to pass under the 12th Street Footbridge with a passenger train that's stopping at the Station before proceeding up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Also visible at the right is PRR engine #244, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata in September of 1917 and retired in August of 1949.
