PRR 2-8-2 #1374 - Pennsylvania RR
Description:
This is an example from the 574 "Mikado" type locomotives built by PRR between 1914-1917. A member of the L1s class, it had 62" drivers, developed 205 psi boiler pressure for fts 27"x30" cylinders (diameter and stroke). Similar parts were used for these Mikados as were used in the famous class K-4 Pacifics - identical boilers and the same Belpaire firebox as well as many other mechanical parts - thus making repairs much easier. Warren W. McCleary Jr photo credit.

No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo so an approximate date & location were used.

PRR 2-8-0 #1251
Description:
As a correction to the previous description, this Consolidation is an example of a PRR Altoona shops H8b class locomotive built in 12/1909. It was rebuilt in 1919 as an H8sb. According to the Altoona shops records, it was eventually scrapped January of 1934 so this may have been one of its last photos. However the car in the photo could possibly be a 1936 Chevrolet model which puts doubt on the scrap date. Can anyone help identify the year on this car? Date listed here is approximate.

Action shot of the 1915 4-6-0C ten wheeler camelback being prepped by a crew member for another passenger run. RDG 2-8-8-2 #1820 - Reading Co
Description:
This massive Reading 2-8-8-2 Chesapeake type steam locomotive #1820 appears to be sitting in a storage line at an unidentified yard, possibly waiting for one of its rebuilds. Built by Baldwin in April of 1919 as Philadelphia & Reading (RDG) compound 2-8-8-2 #1820 (serial #51648, class N-1sc), this massive locomotive was extremely useful as pushers on some of the 3% grades in the Reading line and hauling long drags of freight cars. Sometime in 1936-40, the compound loco was simplified to the N-1sd class. It was rebuilt again to RDG 2-8-8-0 in 1947. It continued in service until being retired in June of 1953 and presumedly scrapped. Original 2-8-8-2 specs - 55.5" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 30 & 26x32" sets of cylinders, engine wt of 439,800 lb and tractive force of 92,570 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed so approximate date and location were used.
